Examination Fees
Initial Certification: $350.00
Renewal of Certification: $250.00
Renewal of Certification Late Application Option $350.00
Lapsed Certification: $350.00
The application fee includes a $100 non-refundable processing fee. Refer to a current Certification Handbook (Certification Handbook) for additional information on fee policies.
Examination Dates
For the year 2008, the Certification Examination dates are:
Spring Examination: Saturday, May 3, 2008
Application Postmark Deadline: January 15, 2008
Late Application Postmark Deadline: February 15, 2008 (For Renewal of Certification Only; Additional Fee Required - Refer to Certification Handbook for details)
Fall Examination: Saturday, October 25, 2008
Application Postmark Deadline: July 15, 2008
Late Application Postmark Deadline: August 15, 2008 (For Renewal of Certification Only; Additional Fee Required - Refer to Certification Handbook for details)

Requests for Sunday Testing
The Examination may be scheduled on a Sunday ONLY if religious convictions prohibit taking it on Saturday. Sunday testing is available only on the day immediately following the published date of the Examination applied for. The "Request for Sunday Testing" form must be completed and submitted with the application. There is no additional fee when a Sunday Examination date is established. Sunday test sites are listed in the previous section.
Obtain an Application for the Certification Examination
The 2008 Certification Handbook (and Application) is available via download (click here) and mail. To obtain the 2008 Handbook via mail, send a request including your mailing address, via mail, telephone, facsimile or e-mail to NCBDE's testing agency, Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP). It will be sent to you upon publication. There is no charge for the handbook and application.
