Examination Fees

Initial Certification: $350.00
Renewal of Certification: $250.00
Lapsed Certification: $350.00

The application fee includes a $100 non-refundable processing fee. Refer to a current Certification Handbook (Certification Handbook) for information on fee policies.

Examination Windows

The Examination is administered twice a year, in the spring and fall, during which approved candidates will be able to schedule appointments to take the examination on a date of their choosing. Applied Measurement Professionals ("AMP"), NCBDE’s professional testing agency, has multiple testing locations across the country where the Examination can be taken (see Assessment Center Locations below); trained proctors will be available to assist with the process.

For the year 2012, the Certification Examination Windows are:

Spring Examination Window: May - June, 2012
Deadline* for either completion of on-line application or postmark for paper application:

March 15, 2012

Fall Examination Window: November - December, 2012

Deadline* for either completion of on-line application or postmark for paper application:

September 15, 2012

Spring window - January 15

Fall window - July 15

Assessment Center Locations

AMP Assessment Centers have been selected to provide accessibility for the most candidates in all states and major metropolitan areas. AMP Assessment Centers are typically located in H&R Block offices. A current listing of AMP Assessment Centers, including addresses and driving directions, may be viewed at AMP's website located at www.goamp.com. Specific address information will be provided when a candidate schedules an examination appointment.
