New Board Members and Officers Elected for Service Beginning 2010

NCBDE is pleased to announce that the following CDEs were elected to positions on the Board of Directors beginning in 2010: Christine M. Day, RN, MS, CDE, ACNS-BC, Duluth, MN; Rosalyn H. Haase, RD, CD, CDE, MPH, BC-ADM, De Pere, WI; and Susanna Mauiri Robinson, RPh, CDE, Troy, MI. Arny Bereson, PhD, Murrieta, CA, has been elected to the public member position. In addition, Deanna C. Spears, RN, BS, CDE, Mount Dora, FL, was recently elected to fill the vacancy left after the loss of Peggy Adams this past June.

NCBDE is also happy to announce that David Randal, PsyD, LP, CDE (North Mankato, MN) will move into the role of Chair; Samuel L. Abbate, MD, CDE (Wasilla, AK) was elected to the office of Chair-elect; and, Rosemary Briars, RN, ND, CDE, CPNP, (Orland Park, IL) was elected to serve a second term as Treasurer. Karen M. Bolderman, RD, LDN, CDE (Ellicott City, MD), having completed her service as Chair, will begin her new role as Immediate Past Chair. These officers will begin their terms on January 1, 2010.

NCBDE would also like to express gratitude to the outgoing directors for all the time and energy devoted to the organization during their terms of service (to be completed in December 2009): Joni Beck, PharmD, CDE, BC-ADM, Edmond, OK; Cindy Halstenson, RD, LD, CDE, New Brighton, MN; and Phyllis L. Secraw, RN-BC, CDE, Corpus Christi, TX. Cindy's term on the Board of Directors also included serving as Chair from October 2007-October 2008. We look forward to the continuing support of NCBDE by these individuals through participation on various task forces and committees.
