Renewal of Certification by Continuing Education Frequently Asked Questions

NOTE: Renewal of certification by continuing education is only available to current CDEs who can document meeting the appropriate requirements. Those who have let their credentials lapse cannot use this method to reinstate their CDE credential.

• What is the timeframe for accruing continuing education hours during the implementation phase?
• Will renewal of certification by the Certification Examination still be available?
• Will the deadline date for renewal of certification by continuing education be different from the deadlines for the Certification Examinations?
• Will it be possible to "switch" to the continuing education option if the Certification Examination is not successfully completed?
